IAEE DFW Volunteers Joined Together to Fight Hunger at the North Texas Food Bank

On Thursday, February 19, the IAEE DFW Chapter came together for a meaningful morning of service at the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). Our volunteer group spent the morning supporting NTFB’s mission to provide nutritious food to families, seniors, and children across 13 North Texas counties. The impact of the work was immediate and deeply felt—every hour helped move food into the hands of neighbors who need it most.

Why We Volunteered
As an industry rooted in connection, collaboration, and community, giving back is an extension of who we are. Hunger continues to affect 1 in 8 North Texans, including many children. By volunteering, our chapter helped NTFB keep up with the high demand for food assistance—making a real difference in a short amount of time.

What We Did
During our shift, IAEE DFW volunteers worked together on several food‑bank tasks, including:

  • Sorting and packaging shelf‑stable foods
  • Assembling produce and pantry boxes
  • Organizing donated items
  • Supporting NTFB’s quality‑control process

The work was hands‑on, fast‑paced, and incredibly rewarding. NTFB’s team guided us through each step, making it easy to contribute in a meaningful way.

Lunch & Networking Afterwards
After the volunteer shift, the group gathered for a casual lunch at Velvet Taco. It was a great opportunity to unwind, catch up with fellow IAEE DFW members, welcome new faces, and continue conversations sparked during the morning shift. The mix of service and networking made for a memorable chapter event.

A Morning That Made an Impact
Thank you to everyone who joined us, registered through the NTFB volunteer portal, and contributed time and energy to this important cause. Your efforts supported thousands of meals for families throughout North Texas—and strengthened our chapter’s sense of community and purpose.
We look forward to future opportunities to serve together and continue making a positive impact.
